2026 Marilyn D. Harris Research Grant
Dr Lailatun Ni'mah
The Primary Investigator is Dr. Lailatun Ni’mah, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.,. She is a nursing academic, clinician, and researcher at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga. She holds professional nursing qualifications and a master’s degree in nursing, supported by doctoral-level training in nursing science. This study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of patients’ experiences with Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), the barriers they encounter, and the types of support they require. Such information is essential for nurses, physicians, policymakers, and healthcare providers in designing and implementing home-based care programs for CAPD patients, thereby contributing to the development of more effective care models in Indonesia. The findings of this study are expected to offer comprehensive insights into the diverse experiences of patients undergoing CAPD, which may inform improved decision-making processes and the formulation of more evidence-based policies in the future.
Erin Donnelly
Erin Donnelly is a doctoral nursing student at the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Villanova University, and has been a registered nurse for seven years. In 2023, she transitioned from inpatient to home care, serving as a home health nurse case manager and providing care to patients in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. Her current research study, 'Factors Affecting Medication Management and the Impact on Healthcare Utilization in Homebound Older Adults: A Secondary Analysis of the National Health and Ageing Trends Study (NHATS)', focuses on homebound older adults and the support needed to manage medical care at home. Erin values the continuity of care, relationship-building, and personal nature of home health nursing, which directly informs her commitment to improving independence, safety, and access to care for older adults living at home. She is grateful for IHCNO's support in advancing home and community-based nursing practice.
